Week Sixty Nine

Hi Mom!

The dinner was SO great! I spent just about the whole morning cooking like I thought, but it put me right back at home, and I had a blast. We made a TON of food, and there were moments when I wasn´t sure if the Brasilian ovens were going to handle it, but it all worked out, and everyone liked it. Sister Cordon made some incredible sweet potatoes, too, they were absolutely my favorite. We had really good pie, really good turkey (even grilled! so good.) and Sister Cordon loved the mashed potatoes we did. I roasted some garlic together with my turkey and mixed it in; you really couldn´t tell the flavor was there but she really liked it. All in all it was really great.

Yeah there was an Elder there going to Prudentópolis; him and his trainer ate there, along with a bunch of missionaries from the zone. His trainer used to be a district leader in the Zone, and it was really great to see him again. It´s amazing how much you grow to love the people you lead, and how happy you get seeing them again. I do, at least.

We had a miracle this Sunday! All the people we were expecting to come to church bailed, so I came back from going to pick them up pretty sad, but when I got there, Elder Gill said that there was a guy who´d been invited by a friend and that I should sit by him in Sacrament Meeting. I did, and the talks were awesome: one about the holy ghost, one about testimonies, and one about the Atonement. He (Paulo) said that he had goosebumps the whole time! We marked an appointment at the member´s house that night, and he´s going to be baptized next Sunday! The best part is that he already wants to bring people into the church with him! It´s incredible how we´re blessed in the moments of our deepest despairs at times. He´s so great, and I know he´s going to help a lot of people.

I can´t believe tomorrow´s December! And Nick´s getting his papers sent in! So much stuff is going on, and the work is growing stronger and stronger. I hope to have a lot more to tell you in the weeks to come! Love you Mom, and hope you get all you need to done! Have a great week! Love you!!!!!!

Hey Dad!

Thanksgiving was so great! We had about 25 people there, and about 6 in a kitchen that fits 2 uncomfortably, so it got a little tight. Lots of people contributed though, so it was really fun. President Cordon made German Purple Cabbage and grilled turkey, Sister Cordon made some really good rolls and incredible sweet potatoes (so good. Basically the only way I´ll eat them now, seeing as I don´t really like them anyway), a senior couple missionary brought pies, and basically I did the rest. It was super fun though, I can´t wait to do something like it again. Hopefully I´ll get some more chances!  The turkeys here don´t grow as big, so I´m not exactly sure but it wasn´t anything enormous. We had to cook 3 to feed everyone, so I´m going to assume it was actually pretty small, but it ended up turning out great. I put an herb butter on it and threw it in the oven with tin foil and a roasting pan and didn´t touch it for like 4 hours. Turned out great!

Things are going really well; with the transfer we got a bunch of missionaries that are really ready to get down to it. Lots of people with baptismal dates already! There´s one missionary in the zone that´s going home this transfer, so we´re really trying to help him finish on  a good note. He´s doing really well, too; when I got here he was ready to get transferred, but now he´s really grateful to have stuck around. They´re going to baptize a TON! It´s going to be so cool.

I can´t believe Nick´s almost got his papers out! That´s so exciting. Be sure to let me know the second he gets his call! You might even be able to call the office to let me know where he´s going if it´s far from Pday when he gets his letter! I´m so excited!

Hope work´s going great, and let me know what I can do to help. I´m all set down here, so don´t worry, and have an awesome week! Love you dad!!!!!!!!

Love, Eric
